San Angelo City officials sent out a news release saying that the San Angelo Regional Airport will host a multiagency emergency exercise Wednesday, April 15.
The exercise is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. at the airport and the Goodfellow Air Force Base Recreation Camp.
Residents and travelers may notice more emergency vehicles, low-flying aircraft, and simulated smoke or incidents near the airport and Lake Nasworthy area. Authorities emphasize that this is only a drill.
Also, commercial airline schedules will not be affected, and the airport will operate as normal. Officials stress that the multiagency collaboration helps ensure San Angelo Regional Airport remains prepared for any large-scale incident.
