The Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office, part of the Office of the Governor, announced that the City of San Angelo has been officially recognized by Travel Texas as a Tourism Friendly Texas Certified Community. This designation was awarded after San Angelo successfully completed a multi-step certification process.
The Tourism Office stated that by earning this certification, Discover San Angelo shows its dedication to promoting tourism as an essential strategy for economic growth. This initiative aims to create local jobs and attract more visitors to both the community and Texas from across the nation and around the world.
San Angelo is now a Film Friendly Texas, Music Friendly Texas, and Tourism Friendly Texas Certified Community.
The Tourism Friendly Texas Community program is open to local governments or non-profit organizations that serve as the lead entity for tourism promotion and development efforts.
