A prestigious Ceramic Competition Exhibit opens in San Angelo this week.
The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts invites the public to the opening reception for the 26th San Angelo North American Ceramic Competition exhibit, a juried exhibition featuring selected works by ceramic artists from across North America.
SAMFA’s opening reception will be held from 5:30-8 p.m. Friday, April 17, in the museum’s Grand Hall. Refreshments will be served, and this event is free and open to the public.
The exhibition showcases a variety of ceramics, including functional and sculptural works.
This year’s competition is juried by Linda Ganstrom, a noted figurative ceramic artist.
Invited artist Marc Leuthold will have his work featured alongside the accepted pieces, and he will also lead a full-day ceramics workshop during the opening week events.

The 26th San Angelo North American Ceramic Competition exhibit will be on display until June 21, 2026.
The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts is located at 1 Love Street, due south of the Oakes Street Bridge downtown.
