After 30 years of selling furniture in San Angelo, the local Haverty’s Furniture store on Knickerbocker Road is closing in June.
Local Store officials say the parent company decided not to renew its lease at 1735 Knickerbocker Road, which opened in March of 1995.
The company, which began in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1885, is not closing down and has more than 125 stores in 17 states, according to the company website.
Store employees here will have a chance to transfer to other stores in the organization, and sales will continue with warehouse pieces available for a while; later, sales will be from the floor to clear out inventory. Officials say prices will be reduced.
