Visitors to Fort Concho National Historic Landmark can time travel back to the 1880s at the oldest address in San Angelo during Fort Concho’s annual Frontier Day.
The event features a wagon-full of family-friendly sights, sounds, and activities on Saturday, April 25, from 7:30 a.m. to noon.
With free admission, it will be a fun morning for families at “America’s Best Preserved Frontier Fort,” showcasing the diverse agricultural and military heritage of San Angelo and surrounding areas.
Highlights include s sheep shearing demonstration, 1880s-era baseball, frontier crafts and games and living history, along with live entertainment including the ever-popular Concho Cowboy Company Gunfight.
Also appearing on the grounds will be Chief Broken Eagle and trick roper Doug Whitaker.
Fort Buildings will also be open.
The day will begin with attendees enjoying the traditional Lions Club Pancake Breakfast served outdoors from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Cost is $10 per person.
