Chad Decker was sworn in as the new Commissioner of Tom Green County on Tuesday morning. He is succeeding the late Precinct 2 Commissioner Sammy Farmer after winning the Republican nomination in the primary election.
At the meeting, commissioners unanimously agreed to appoint Decker to serve out the unexpired term representing County Precinct 2.
Decker will be unopposed on the ballot in the November general election.
