A wind and rain storm moved through Runnels County Thursday afternoon and caused damage to the Ballinger Memorial Hospital and its District Professional Building. Officials report that the storm caused significant damage to the roof of the professional building. Fortunately, all patients and staff are safe, and that the emergency room, lab, and hospital services remain operational.
On Friday morning, hospital officials posted an update on social media, saying Keel Drug, the Ballinger Hospital Clinic, and Radiology are open during regular hours Friday and Saturday. Also, their rehabilitation & wellness center is open with regular hours.
Hospital district officials ask patients to be patient and cautious around the Ballinger Memorial Hospital District facilities as heavy equipment and repair crews work to assess and address the damage.
The district stated they will release a more detailed statement once the damage has been thoroughly assessed, and they will continue to keep the community updated as more information becomes available.
