Local senior citizens participating in Meals for the Elderly’s program will get an early taste of the annual H-E-B Feast of Sharing event as the Texas supermarket giant partners with community volunteers to deliver more than 700 meals on Nov. 3.
H-E-B partners and Meal’s volunteers will deliver the spirit of the holiday to doorsteps across San Angelo and the surrounding area next week, providing nutrition along with a visit from a friendly face and a reminder that someone cares.
Feast of Sharing deliveries in San Angelo were inaugurated in 1989; today, the event provides more than 340,000 meals each year throughout 34 cities in Texas and Mexico, with roughly 375,000 volunteers having served more than four million meals over the years.
The 30th annual Feast of Sharing Dinner in San Angelo will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at First Financial Pavilion, 4400 Grape Creek Road.
The Feast of Sharing is free, and everyone is encouraged to attend and enjoy a holiday meal, live music, and entertainment for the whole family.
