Aaron Watson at Cooper’s in Christoval

Friday night, Amarillo native Aaron Watson will take his chart-topping country music to Cooper’s BBQ. His most recent album “Cover Girl” was released in 2023, and it’s sure to be a packed house, so get your tickets now.

Blues-Rock at the House of DuBois

Boom Chank, known for their distinctive blues rock sound, kicks off the weekend at Fifi’s. The Austin-based two-piece guitar-and-drum combo was born out of necessity when Brannen Temple and Hadden Sayers were unable to find a bass player for a concert. One reviewer described the duo as “A cross between The White Stripes and Ry Cooder.”

You can find their music on Spotify.

Benefit Concert to feature San Angelo’s Henry Garza

A concert to benefit Concho Valley Turning Point is slated for 7 p.m. Saturday at the Murphey Performance Hall, 72 W. College Ave.

Alpha Paving Ad

Concho Valley Turning Point is a faith-based group founded in 1994 through Rust Street Ministries, with the aim of helping people overcome their self-destructive behaviors.

Since 2009, Turning Point has been a 501(c)(3) organization.

Tickets can be purchased online here.

Fourth-annual Rain Dance at Hoolihan Acres

There may be some tickets left for the Rain Dance just outside of Mertzon on Saturday. The event benefits the local Lions Club, and will feature J.R. Dunn and the Spring Creek Band, with opening act The Sometimers Band. The event also includes a BBQ-sandwich dinner and silent auction. Call Mike Dolan at 325-450-2550 for tickets or information.
