Texas Small Biz Summit Coming to West Texas

A chance for area small business owners to connect with resources and information is coming next week.

The Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office within the Office of the Governor has announced the next 2026 Governor’s Small Business Summit will be hosted in Midland on Thursday, August 6.

The Governor’s Small Business Summits take place throughout the year across Texas, helping small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs access crucial resources and information to start and grow their businesses.

Governor Greg Abbott says, “With more than 3.5 million small businesses across our state employing nearly half of all working Texans, Texas continues to lead the nation as the top state for job creation and economic vitality.”

The Governor’s Small Business Summit in Midland gathers local, state, and federal resource partners to share insights on key business topics. Attendees can network with other business owners and connect with experts for actionable advice.

Governor’s Small Business Summit

  • 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6
  • Midland College’s Langford Chaparral Center, 3600 N. Garfield

    Session Topics include:
  • Adapt, Hire, Grow: Workforce Resiliency for an Evolving Economy
  • Access to Capital: Financing Strategies for Small Businesses
  • Growth and Guidance: Leveraging State and Local Resources
  • Keynote speaker will be Angel Garcia, Founder of BAM Ventures

    Registration is $20 and includes access to all sessions, resource providers, lunch, and complimentary headshots. For more information and to register: gov.texas.gov/events.
