Railway Museum’s “Dia del Tren” is Sept. 12
The Railway Museum of San Angelo kicks off Dia del Tren Saturday, Sept 12 to celebrate adding new tours and signage in Spanish.
The museum begins this new opportunity with a day when everything is in Spanish, including costumed guides giving all tours in Spanish, the little Choo Choo Train and fun crafts for the children from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. After Dia del Tren, tours will be available in English and Spanish, with QR codes and signage giving information in both languages.
Everyone is invited to Dia del Tren, whether they speak Spanish, study the language or are just looking for something different to do. Thanks to San Angelo sponsors, on Sept. 12 all children are admitted free and the kids’ craft is free. Adults pay $4.50 (seniors and military) or $5 admission. Children’s rides on the little Choo Choo are $5.
That’s Saturday, Sept 12 from 10 a.m – 4 p.m. at the Railway Museum of San Angelo, 703 S. Chadbourne, 325-486-2140, info.railwaymuseum@gmail.com, www.sanangelorailway.org.

Family Day at the Museum of Fine Arts
Inspiring sounds and colors will permeate the Education Studio as families gather at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts on Saturday, Sept. 19.
September’s Family Day will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1 Love St.
This month’s theme is Sound into Color! where families will explore how music becomes movement, color, texture, and emotion through painting, rhythm drawing stations, album cover art, and more.
Visitors are encouraged to stop by the Concho Clay Studio throughout the event for free drop-in clay activities. No registration is required.
In addition to art activities, guests can browse a free children’s book giveaway in SAMFA’s Grand Hall. The San Angelo Adult Literacy Council and anonymous donors generously provide the books.
Family Day is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be available while supplies last. Activities are subject to change, and additional surprise activities may be offered throughout the day.
