The Texas Economic Development and Tourism Office, part of the Office of the Governor, announced the Texas Film Commission will host a virtual “Film Friendly Texas Workshop” on Thursday, May 21.
Communities throughout Texas interested in creating local jobs and expanding their economies by becoming Film Friendly Texas Certified Communities are encouraged to attend.
“Texas’ media production industry is growing, supporting local jobs and boosting community revenue,” said Gov. Greg Abbott. “The Texas Film Commission helps local partners attract investment and create good jobs. I invite Texas communities to attend this workshop to become a Film Friendly Texas Community.”
The workshop, co-hosted by the Texas Film Commission and Visit Granbury, offers professional development sessions, including “How to Become a Film Friendly Texas Certified Community.” Attending this workshop is a required step for certification as a Film Friendly Texas Certified Community.
Community leaders from city or county governments, convention bureaus, chambers of commerce, and economic development corporations are invited to a virtual workshop to become Film Friendly Texas liaisons for media production inquiries.
