Ongoing dialogue about the regulation of any proposed data centers in the city limits continues, as San Angelo residents, city officials, and data center developers grapple with discussions about a variety of details.

The images were published on the San Angelo Data Center Citizen Coalition’s Facebook page.

City of San Angelo Deputy Communications Director Lorelei Day released a bulletin Tuesday evening stating that images have been circulating online between the city and data center developer Emergent regarding a proposed “380 agreement” to discuss incentives or abatements for a proposed data center.

According to Day, city officials want to clarify that all of the documents were merely examples provided to them by the developer, and that nothing has been agreed upon between any involved parties.

Additionally, the bulletin emphasized that local municipalities do not have the authority to grant state tax exemptions.

The City Council will be developing a 380 agreement, which will be proposed and discussed in open session at a future council meeting.
