ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL
Two candidates for local office have been staying busy: Democrats Walter Bryant of San Angelo is running for Justice of the Peace in Precinct 1, and Shiloh Salazar of Big Spring who is running against incumbent House Rep. Drew Darby for State District 72. You can meet them this week as they have many events planned.
They are both challenging longstanding incumbent candidates for their positions.

Self Defense Class with the Candidates
- Who: Walter Bryant and Shiloh Salazar
- What: Free community self defense class, karate
- When: Sept. 15 at 6 p.m.
- Where: Karate Institute, 2302 N. Chadbourne St.
The candidates say this will be a community event, with no campaign speeches. The candidates will take questions after class.
Loteria Night
- Who: Walter Bryant
- What: Loteria Mexicana Night; games, food, and prizes.
- When: Sept. 12 at 7 p.m.
- Where: Karate Institute, 2302 N. Chadbourne St.
