Ahead of this November’s midterm elections, San Angelo NAACP Unit 6219, the Minority Alliance Network Organization, and West Texas Indivisible will host a community forum at San Angelo Performing Arts Center Oct. 8, at a time to be announced later.
So far, the two local candidates for Justice of the Peace in Tom Green County’s Precinct 1, Susan Werner (R-Incumbent) and Walter Bryant (D) have confirmed their appearance.
Other candidates for congress, state house, and state senate have all been invited, but no confirmation has been received by the organizers at time of publication.
All three seats are facing competition for the first time in decades; as August Pfluger (R-Incumbent) will face Claire Reynolds (D) to represent Texas’ 11th congressional district, Drew Darby (R-Incumbent) will face Shiloh Salazar (D) for Texas’ 72nd house district, and Charles Perry (R-Incumbent) will face Riley Rodriquez (D) for Texas’ 28th senate district.
