CITY OF SAN ANGELO

Wanna try running the city of San Angelo?

With the upcoming retirement of longtime San Angelo city manager Daniel Valenzuela, the city is now accepting applications for a new city manager. You might want to hurry though, as applications are due by March 30, according to officials.

Mr. Valenzuela will retire Oct. 31 after 13 years of service to San Angelo, marking an important transition in City leadership. Two additional city leadership positions are currently undergoing changes as well.

San Angelo operates under a City Manager-Council government, which separates policymaking and administrative enforcement. The elected mayor and city council set policies and hire a professional city manager to oversee daily operations.

The City Manager leads over 980 employees in 23 departments, guides varied projects, manages finances, maintains strong relationships, and tackles the City’s long-term goals.

The annual salary starts at $252,000 to $300.000 per year.
