Hundreds of professionals specializing in care for seniors will converge at Angelo State University’s C.J. Davidson Center this week for the Texas Association of Regional Council’s three-day “Aging in Texas” conference.
The conference aims to empower professionals in the field of aging by offering access to the latest research, high-quality training opportunities, and innovative resources, all geared toward enhancing the quality of service delivery.
The San Angelo conference runs from Wednesday through Friday for a week of learning, making lifelong connections and initiating useful discussions for those working with and caring for older Texans.
More than three dozen speakers are scheduled for presentations on topics ranging from mental health, nutrition, and online safety to poverty, aging trends, and community connections.
The Texas Association of Regional Councils is a statewide organization representing 24 regional councils—also known as councils of governments or COGs, that help local governments handle cross-boundary planning, emergency communications, and economic development. They operate as political subdivisions under Texas law. The Concho Valley Council of Governments includes 14 area counties in the West Central Texas area.
