Angelo State University is one of two dozen Texas Colleges and Universities that have been named a National College of Distinction.

ASU is now ranked for the ninth straight year among seven other Texas public Universities by Colleges of Distinction, a print and online college guide.

A news release from ASU said, “Schools are selected for the various designations for employing High-Impact Practices and demonstrating excellence in four key areas identified by Colleges of Distinction as the ‘Four Distinctions’ -Engaged Students, Great Teaching, Vibrant Community and Successful Outcomes.”

ASU President Ronnie Hawkins highlighted the significance of the university’s designation as a “College of Distinction,” stating it underscores the university’s mission to prepare students for successful careers and impactful lives. He stressed that being designated a ‘College of Distinction’ helps set it apart and informs prospective students nationwide that the best way to achieve their goals and dreams is to choose ASU and go as a Ram.
