Western and country-rock bands played the Bill Aylor Sr. Memorial RiverStage in downtown San Angelo Saturday night for a Western Roundup concert to support cancer warriors in their recovery.

It was a perfect early May afternoon for the event; breezy and green, buzzing with people, young and old, out to support their community.

Before each of the six performances, a different beneficiary of the Roundup introduced the band.

Local favorites Shea Abshire and the Nighthowlers, Gage and the Grease Monkeys, and Tristan Graves began the show around 2 p.m.

Dylan Wheeler performed his set of hard country-rock, followed by Cody Canada and The Departed with a distinct funky flair to their set.

Shane Smith and The Saints headlined, just arriving back in Texas after a tour that saw them performing at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado

A few dozen passersby watched from the Chadbourne Street Bridge.
