ELECTION ROUND-UP
If you haven’t checked up on your voter registration, today is the last day to register or update your voter information before the midterm elections. Early voting begins on Oct. 19.
Texans can visit VoteTexas.gov to find a voter registration application, check their registration status, or update their details. If you are mailing your voter registration application, it must be postmarked by the registration deadline.
In Tom Green County, there is only one local election being contested, for Justice of the Peace Precinct 1. The incumbent, Susan Werner, will face a challenger; Walter Bryant (D).
Statewide, there are challengers for almost every seat in an election year first for many years. All incumbent Republicans are facing Democratic challengers. You can find a current sample ballot here.
