University Theatre presents the Tony Award-nominated drama “Twelve Angry Jurors” for its first production of the fall season, beginning Thursday, Oct. 9, in the ASU Modular Theatre.

Show times will be at 8 p.m. each night Oct. 9-11 and 16-18, with a matinee finale performance at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 19. The Modular Theatre is located inside ASU’s Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building at 2602 Dena Drive.

“Twelve Angry Jurors” begins following the closing arguments in the murder trial of a 19-year-old man accused of fatally stabbing his father. The 12 jurors are taken into the bleak jury room to deliberate, with a guilty verdict meaning death for the accused. It looks like an open-and-shut case until one of the jurors begins opening the others’ eyes to the facts. Based on the Emmy Award-winning TV show, “Twelve Angry Men,” the drama offers a microcosm of society that mirrors the conflicts, beliefs and compassion of humanity.

Under the direction of Josh Brewer, director of University Theatre, the ASU student cast includes Zaiden Lopez, Analisa Tony, Mitchell Martinez, Catalina Perry, Addie Gregoire, Rylan Hererra, Edmund Davis, Kate Yantis, BrittNee Smith, Tyson Walls, Anastacia Valdez, Emily Wagner, Lawrence Smiley, Mia Harryman and Madison Jackson, as well as special guest Mikey Hill.
