More than 50 women are on the move in San Angelo, volunteering here after arriving from Houston, and they will spend several days working to rehabilitate homes and properties damaged by last July’s devastating flood.
The Sister-Corps is staffed by volunteers who provide disaster relief for those affected in many areas across the nation, bringing workers to rebuild damaged homes and lives.
Officials say there are six teams here, repairing and cleaning out about a half-dozen homes.
According to the organization, Sister-Corps began in 2017 when volunteers came together to help victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas.
