Galilee Community Development Corp. recently received a $750,000 grant from the American Red Cross to provide flood relief in Tom Green County intended to repair and rebuild homes.
According to a news release from Galilee CDC, the partnership will fund the purchase of materials, contractors, and cover a portion of the administrative costs of flood reconstruction.
“Even after a year, the work to be done is still increasing,” said Naomi Pease, senior director of long-term recovery at Galilee. “Newer disasters may be dominating the headlines, but over a year later, the recovery continues from the 2025 floods.”
According to Pease, the funding is part of the national Red Cross’ Long-Term Recovery Program, which supports individual and household recovery and addresses community-wide needs following a disaster.
Galilee Community Development Corp. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing and restoring affordable housing for low- to moderate-income residents throughout the Concho Valley.
