PaulAnn residents have scheduled a community meeting to discuss data center construction and re-zoning in District 4. The meeting will be held on Dec. 29 at 5:30 p.m., in the Brooks and Bates meeting room at the Stevens Central Library, 33 W. Beauregard Ave.

Speaking over phone to The Concho Observer, one PaulAnn neighborhood resident said they wanted to organize a meeting to address misinformation and to encourage transparency between the city about the new proposals.

According to meeting organizers, the original invite was sent to City Councilman Patrick Keely. As of Monday morning, Mayor Tom Thompson and a Chamber of Commerce representative are expected to attend as well.

What We Know So Far

The Concho Observer reported earlier this month that planners expect each system will require 1.5 million gallons of water to charge, for a grand total of about 9-million gallons, but the construction will be staggered in phases and will not need to be charged all at once.

To put this into perspective, San Angelo Water Department officials report an intake of around 12 -13 million-gallons per day during the winter months, noting that the 1.5-million gallons is around 12.5 percent of the city’s average-daily-water-use per system charge.

Curious as to how this meeting went and if community is buying into this.
