Burn Ban Lifted

Tom Green County Commissioners Court moved to lift the county-wide burn ban on Tuesday, since most of the area received some rainfall last week.

Noting that there were some windy days in the forecast, they urged anyone needing to burn to take every necessary precaution, but they agreed to lift the ban for at least a week.

Burning within the San Angelo city limits is always prohibited.

Fort Concho Speaker

Christopher Roque, vicar of the Episcopal Church of Fort McKavett & Menard will be the featured speaker from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday as he presents “Pistol Packing Preachers of West Texas” in the Fort Concho Commissary.

Good Friday Closings

On Friday, April 18, city and county offices will be closed in observance of Good Friday. Offices will reopen at the normal time on Monday, April 21.

Youth 5v5 Flag Football

Registration is open now through May 1 for the Youth 5v5 Flag Football league at the Texas Bank Sports Complex.

Divisions: 5U, 7U, 9U, 11U and 13U / Boys and girls teams
Ages: 4-13 (as of Sept. 1, 2025)
Individual registration fee: $80
Team fee: $500 with own jerseys, $600 with provided jerseys
League dates: June 5 through Aug. 9
