San Angelo Police are looking forward to a technology upgrade thanks to a $1.2 million federal grant.

The office of U.S. Congressman August Pfluger procured the funding for a SAPD Technology Upgrade Program, according to the police department announcement.

Police officials say the $1,233,324 in funding strengthens public safety by ensuring their 911 dispatch and records management systems remain reliable, secure, and fully compliant with cybersecurity standards.

The department will upgrade its systems for service calls, reporting, and interactions among officers, dispatchers, and the community, thereby improving response times, enhancing information sharing, strengthening cybersecurity, and ensuring continuous service to citizens.
