An Art Show, a program about Western Art, and a Skit by the Concho Cowboy Company will mark the local celebration of National Cowboy Day on Saturday, July 25 at Fort Concho National Historic Landmark.
The day’s activities will begin at 9 a.m. inside Quartermaster Gallery on Burgess Street and East Avenue C and are free and open to the public.
The morning begins with light breakfast refreshments before Laura Huckaby, San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts curator, presents a short program about the American Plains Artists Western Art Show, which features 70 paintings and sculptures showcasing a wide range of western styles.
At 10 a.m., the renowned Concho Cowboy Company, celebrating their 20th anniversary this year, will perform one of their popular skits outside the Quartermaster Building.
The art show will be open until 4 p.m. on Saturday and from 1:30-4:30 p.m. on Sunday. Regular hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. will continue on weekday afternoons and Saturdays (closed on Mondays) through Sunday, Aug. 2.
