Angelo State University will host a public event featuring former U.S. Senator Phil Gramm on Tuesday, May 5, at the C.J. Davidson Conference Center. The program starts at 11:45 a.m. with a luncheon and book signing, followed by a keynote presentation at 12:30 p.m.
Attendance is free, but those wanting to join the luncheon must register in advance.
Gramm will discuss his new book, “The Triumph of Economic Freedom: Debunking the Seven Great Myths of American Capitalism.” The first 200 attendees will receive free copies of the book.
According to a news release from ASU, Gramm’s talk will explore the historical growth of prosperity through capitalism and the evolving role of government regulation, highlighting seven key events in U.S. history that have influenced public perception of government’s role today, arguing that while capitalism has led to incredible growth, it has also been met with increased state control during disruptions.
This event offers a chance to engage with the former senator on economic freedom and policy.
