No, your Credit or Debit information was not hacked, San Angelo City officials say.

There was an outage on Friday Feb. 6 disrupting online water payments. The city’s public information office reported Monday that the credit card company contracted for online payments was the target of a cybersecurity attack.

Officials stressed that this was not a data breach, and no credit or debit card information was compromised.

City officials clarified the issue did not involve InvoiceCloud, the platform the city uses for online water bill management.

Officials say customers using online credit or debit auto-pay will not incur late fees during this period.

Potential water shutoffs will also be suspended for those affected by the outage.

As of Monday Feb 9, there is no timeline for restoring online credit and debit card payment services. The city will provide updates as more information becomes available.
