On Thursday, Oct. 16th, join local artists for a good cause at the Coop Gallery, 427 S. Oakes St., for the 3rd Annual Dia de Muertos Art Sale and Exhibition. The event is free for all ages, but a portion of the proceeds from the art sale will benefit the Hispanic Heritage Museum and Cultural Center.

Opening reception begins at 5:30 p.m. Each of the exhibitions features art and designs inspired by Hispanic Day of the Dead celebrations: 21 local artists will participate in various mediums, including, paintings, sculpture, ceramics, glass. There will be a contest judged by a panel with awards for the winners, and a people’s choice category where you can vote for your favorites. Along with live music, refreshments will be served.

After the opening reception, the artworks will move to Plateau Brewing Company, at 214 S. Chadbourne.

This event celebrates the hispanic heritage of Dia de Muertos, and supports the construction of a dedicated Hispanic Heritage and Cultural Museum, closing out National Hispanic Heritage Month.
