Animal Welfare

San Angelo Animal Services asks citizens step up and help reduce crowding at the local shelter after a recent cruelty investigation led to the seizure 27 dogs. The animals in this case require space at the shelter through the legal hearing and appeal process for the current owner.

“We’re not looking for quick decisions,” reads a public post from the COSA official Facebook page.

“We’re looking for forever homes for animals who deserve lover, stability, and another chance at life.”

The shelter is urging community members to step up and consider adopting one of the many animals already waiting for a safe space at the shelter to make room for the new arrivals, noting that they believe “every adoption matters”.

San Angelo residents interested in meeting adoptable dogs can visit the shelter during business hours or call to get more information.
