Anabelle Perez Castillo (1954-2026)

OBITUARY

Anabelle Perez Castillo, a beloved member of her community, passed away on February 11, 2026, at the age of 71. She was born on May 9, 1954, in Three Rivers, TX, to Jose Maria and Porfiria Perez. Anabelle was a proud member of The Church and will be remembered for her passion for spreading the gospel. Feeding people was her love language, and she was known for her exceptional culinary skills.

Anabelle married Jose Castillo on September 25, 1972, and together they had five children.

She is survived by her children: Melissa Castillo, Marisela Castillo, Jose Castillo Jr. and his wife Angelica, Graviela Garfias and her husband Frank, and Veronica Jimenez and her husband Jaime. Her legacy continues through her numerous grandchildren: Jonathan Castillo, Clarissa Johnson, Roemello Jackson, Brianna Greenwood, Elijah Greenwood, Vanessa Spencer, Gabriella Castillo, Jose Castillo III, Alina Castillo, Victoria Castillo, Jeana Castro, Ana Castro, Marisol Parker, Lorena Guajardo, Angelica Hodges, Adrian Garfias, Annaleah Garfias, Angelina Garfias, and Adriana Jimenez. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren: Jay Johnsons, Jedidiah Johnson, Janiya Johnson, Jeremiah Johnson, Roemello Jackson Jr., Roman Jackson, Ayanna Jackson, Elliot Uranga, Carlosray Castro, Elaina Johnson, Mateo Reza, Emorella Hodges, Lilliana Parker, Zamorah Robles, Maudicella Reza, and Oziel Huerta. Anabelle is also survived by her brother, Martin Perez.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Castillo. Anabelle dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker, and her love and care have left a lasting impact on those around her.

Postal Annex Ad

A series of services will be held in her honor. An open visitation will take place at Johnson’s Funeral Home, located at 435 West Beauregard, San Angelo, TX 76903, on February 16, 2026, from 12 to 8 p.m. the next day. The funeral service will also be held at Johnson’s Funeral Home on February 18, 2026, at 11 a.m. Following the funeral service, a committal service will be held at Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, located at 4989 FM Highway 1223, San Angelo, TX 76905.

Anabelle Perez Castillo will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her memory will continue to inspire those she touched with her love and kindness.
