OBITUARY
William Lynn Kirbow, 72, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, in San Angelo, TX. Born on April 27, 1953, in Jasper, TX; Lynn lived a life defined by quiet strength, unwavering devotion to family, and a heart that gave endlessly to others.
A graduate of Richland Hills High School, Lynn went on to build a meaningful career as an audiologist. He retired from NewSound Hearing Aid Center in San Angelo after years of dedicated service helping others hear the world more clearly. His work was not just a profession but an extension of his natural caregiving spirit.
Lynn was affectionately known by many names; like Dad or Papaw – but above all, he was known for his selflessness and love.
In May of 1981, he married Sharon Kirbow, his wife and life partner of 44 years. With that union came five children whom he embraced wholeheartedly as his own. He never made distinctions between biological and stepchildren. To him, they were simply his kids. His love extended beyond the walls of his home-every neighborhood child called him dad. A testament to the warmth and acceptance he offered so freely.
Lynn’s life was rooted in simplicity and hard work. When he wasn’t providing for his family through long hours and steady commitment, he found joy in the little things: casting a line while fishing, tending to his garden with care, watching old westerns or Chuck Norris movies with a twinkle in his eye.
Nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with Sharon. Sitting side by side in quiet companionship, or surrounded by their growing family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, those moments were what he cherished most.
He is survived by his beloved wife Sharon Kirbow; his brother Randy Kirbow; his children David Dulin, Mary Treese, Stephen Davis, Christopher Kirbow, Michael Davis and James Davis; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who carry forward his legacy of kindness and strength.
Lynn was preceded in death by his mother Marcelle Conlin; father Bill Kirbow; and brother Kirk Kirbow.
A memorial service celebrating Lynn’s life will be at Shaffer Funeral Home, 1939 Sherwood Way, San Angelo, TX, Sunday, December 7, 2025 at 2 p.m.
William Lynn Kirbow leaves behind a legacy not measured by accolades or possessions but by the countless lives he touched through compassion and quiet example.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire acts of love and generosity for generations to come.
We would like to thank Hospice of San Angelo and Dakota Chandler for their care and heart-felt kindness.
