MEET THE CANDIDATES
EDITOR’S NOTE: As 2026 shapes up as a historic midterm year, The Concho Observer’s will be publishing questionnaires sent to local candidates for our “Meet the Candidate” series.
Name: Todd Smith (R)
Running for: Republican Nomination for Tom Green County Pct. 2 Commissioner
Why are you running/seeking re-election?
I’m running for County Commissioner for Precinct 2 because I’ve spent my entire adult life listening to people, solving problems, and making systems work better. With over 30 years in customer service and technology, I bring a practical, forward thinking approach to managing growth, infrastructure, and taxpayer dollars. I’m focused on accountability, sustainability, and serving Precinct 2 with integrity.
What are your top priorities?
Listening first, being responsible with taxpayers dollars, dealing with smart sustainable growth and of course leading with integrity and accountability.
What issues have constituents told you they were concerned about?
I’ve had a lot of constituents with road issues, which is very understandable. Once in office, I will make it a priority to dive deeper into these issues.
Any plans for rallies, town halls, or meetings in the near future?
Yes! Feb 3rd, from 5:30 to 7:30 at the Lakehouse Pizzeria. Come and visit with me, let me listen to you. Once in office, this will become a regular thing, because I want to be reachable, and work for the constituents of Tom Green County Precinct 2.
Tom Green County Precinct 2 was previously occupied by Sammy Farmer, before his passing earlier this month. Smith is running against Chad Decker in the Republican Primary.
