SAN ANGELO – A packed house greeted Texas State Rep. James Talarico at the Brooks and Bates Theatre Thursday night.
The rally was set to begin at 6:30 p.m., but the line still wrapped around into the entrance. Campaign staffers then had the crowd file onto stage behind the candidate, but there still wasn’t enough room.

Around 6:45 p.m. the candidate made his way to the stage, speaking for about 20 minutes on a few important subjects as the audience listened intently, cheering at several points before the meet-and-greet began.
The line of locals waiting to greet Talarico was still wrapped outside the door by 8 p.m., as voters of all ages waited patiently for a moment with the candidate. One campaign staff member took time to bring Talarico down from the stage to take a photo for those in wheelchairs, much to the delight of the crowd.
Talerico, who represents District 50 north of Austin, announced his campaign a month ago, and has already eclipsed fundraising by former and current candidate Collin Allred.
The campaign will visit Waco on Friday.
