The San Angelo Independent School District Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet this coming Tuesday at 5:45 p.m. in the Board of Trustees meeting room at the SAISD Administration Building 1621 University San Angelo, Texas.
The main topic on the agenda is an information session following up on the Facilities Advisory Committe’s report and recommendation for the Trustees to call for a $402 Million Bond Election for May 3, 2025. The Board of Trustees have not yet decided to call for that election.
Representatives from Parkhill Architects will present information to the board regarding bond project savings realized by eliminating and overlapping scope of work. Jeff Robert, financial advisor with Hilltop Securities Inc. will provide tax rate scenarios that could reduce the overall tax rate related to the proposed bond project. Ronna Johnson with edVantage Strategy Group will provide information regarding the science of elections to include such things as strategic communication, branding, data, intelligence, and campaign management. The agenda does not call for Board action on any of these items, which are presented for information only.
In other business, the Board will receive the District’s audit report, and a public hearing of the 2023-2024 Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR). The TAPR is an annual report required by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) that presents a wide range of information on the performance of students in each school and district in Texas. The report compiled for SAISD will be presented and a public hearing and discussion will be held on the report.
