Concho Valley residents are feelin’ it comin’ on; they’re catching that nagging itch to scream, clap, and cheer cowboys, see flying ropes and clouds of dirt as the master cowboys from all over exhibit their talents as they wrestle steers, rope cattle, and battle bulls as they compete for prizes and fight for a chance to win in the finals.

After hosting the 2026 Stock Show in February, the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Association is getting ready for this year’s rodeo performances next month. Ticket sales for the highly anticipated event will start on Monday.

The San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo has a long and storied history, dating back to the first event held on a polo field from Feb. 29 through March 2, 1932. In the first show, 15 Texas counties were represented and auctions totaled about $10,000.

Throughout the years, the fairgrounds have seen major improvements and renovations, helping the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo grow into one of the largest livestock shows in the country. The rodeo regularly ranks among the top two in total entries.
