OBITUARY


Rita Charleen Parr, 80, of San Angelo; passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, in Bronte, TX.

Rita was born April 18, 1945, in Sweetwater, TX to Gerald and Alice Mae Ward. After school, she worked for Gandy’s and was an attendant for a Mobil gas station and also Stadium Lanes here in San Angelo for many years.

She married Thomas Parr on February 27, 1987, and together they shared 40 great years together.

Rita was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling with her husband.

Rita also had a great passion for bowling and played in several leagues. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Larry and Gerald Ward and her sisters, Sandra Strickland and Glenna Damstra.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Parr, of San Angelo; her children, Billy Kirk, of Ft. Meyers, FL, Karen Octavio and her husband Steve, of San Diego, CA, Jeff Kirk and his wife April, and Jamie McKee and his wife Melissa, all of San Angelo; 9 Grandchildren; and her sister Judy Rae Ward and her husband Greg, of Gainesville, FL.

Services will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children’s Hospital; two charities dear to her heart.
