The second annual Fess Parker “Fess-tival,” honoring San Angelo’s hometown Hollywood and television star, will take place Saturday, Aug. 16, at Fort Concho. The morning program will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and the evening program will be from 7 to 9 p.m.

All events will be at the fort’s Quartermaster Building, located at Burgess Street and East Avenue C. Parking and admission are free.

The morning program will include a continental breakfast, displays and exhibits, period games, a 19th century weaponry firing demonstration, wrapping up with a Daniel Boone/Davy Crockett lookalike contest.

Contest rules and guidelines are available at fortconcho.com. Prizes will be awarded in the adult (18 and older) and youth (17 and younger) divisions.
