Alzheimer’s Walk Kick-Off Set for Thrusday

The Alzheimer’s Association will host a kick-off party in anticipation of the 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer’s from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at Next Level Sports, 2838 College Hills Blvd.

The party is come-and-go, and will offer folks a chance to hear from organizers planning the September event, network with other participants, and receive materials and resources to help with fundraising.

According to the group, there will be finger-foods, music and more on hand.

Flag Day at Railroad Museum

Webb, Stokes & Sparks Personal Injury Law

The Railway Museum of San Angelo will host a Flag Day event, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 14, at 703 S. Chadbourne St.

Attendees will get to meet the cast of the new musical “Red, White & Blue For You” and will have a chance to learn swing dancing, and there are several fun activities for all ages.

Meals for the Elderly Claybird Shoot Set

The Meals for the Elderly Claybird Shoot is slated for Saturday, June 14, at the San Angelo Claybird Assn., 2827 Winger Rd.

The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and aims to be a fun day of food and friendly competition to support the organization, which helps care for more than 600 seniors and disabled clients in four counties.

our mission of delivering hot meals and daily check-ins to more than 600 homebound seniors and disabled neighbors across Tom Green, Concho, Irion Counties, and Miles.

Clay Foley

CV PAWS Fundraiser set for June 20

They’ll be laughing for a good cause next Friday, as the House of Fifi Du Bois hosts the “Comedy to the Rescue” fundraiser for Concho Valley PAWS.

According to a news release from the organization, national comedian Clay Foley and “Comedy to the Rescue” will present a family-friendly show beginning at 8 p.m. June 20.

According to PAWS, Foley works extensively in both animal welfare and stand-up comedy, and currently is touring the nation raising money for local animal-advocacy and rescue groups.

Blackshear Heights Family

Southside Kutz and the Blackshear Heights Family will host the 7th annual Juneteenth Basketball Tournament on June 21.

The 3-on-3 event offers prizes to the winners in five divisions including adult.

Cost to enter is $10 per player and fees are due by July 18.

There will be music from DJ Beats for Barks, a skill-set challenge, and other fun contests.

The event will take place at the Northside Boys & Girls Club, 1802 Lille St.
