A longtime local non-profit that delivers meals to homebound elderly residents in the Concho Valley launched its Community Champion Campaign during their March for Meals celebration on Thursday.
Meals for the Elderly’s campaign recognizes community leaders who raise awareness and support for homebound neighbors.

This year’s event spotlighted Carol Santry as the Honorary Community Champion for her decades of volunteer service with the organization.
The local program has been in operation since 1974, and according to the most recent figures, volunteers currently deliver approximately 600 meals each weekday to homebound seniors throughout the Concho Valley, providing them with nourishment, independence, and daily connection.
Over the last 50 years, more than 4 million meals have been delivered to over 10,000 individuals.
