San Angelo Masonic Lodge #570 will host a BBQ fundraiser to support children in our community this Saturday, August 9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m, at the Suez Shrine Temple, 2915 Loop 306 Frontage Road.

All proceeds from the sale will go directly to school supplies for families in need.

Jordan Fisher, a long-time member of the lodge enjoys being a part of community events like this.

“Everyone needs help at different times in their life, so if we can take those burdens from people while they are going through a tough time… that’s what I like about it.”

The lodge hosts several events throughout the year. Currently, they are planning a coat drive for the colder months.

Jordan welcomes new members to the lodge – especially those who like to help the community.

“One of the main principles of masonry is charity. This time, we wanted to invest in the future of young kids and help them get ready for the upcoming school year. If you want to get involved with things like this, call your local lodge or come to a meeting.”

Lodge #570 has standing meetings on the first Tuesday of every month at the local shrine. The meetings start at 6:30 p.m, and a meal is provided to those who attend.
