OBITUARY

Marvin Lee (Bud) Kendrick 70, passed away unexpectedly from a medical episode on Wednesday December 17, 2025. Bud was born March 16, 1955 to Marvin and Zelda Kendrick in Hereford, TX.

Bud graduated from Hereford High School in 1973 and spent most of his working life as a cowboy, a truck driver, a heavy equipment operator, a welder, and a jack of all trades. Bud married Sheila Lynn Formby Dawes in 2002 in Eureka Springs Arkansas, and they lived in Oklahoma prior to returning to Texas.

Bud had a soft spot in his heart for animals and he and Sheila raised horses, donkeys, longhorns, goats, dogs and cats. Sheila said Bud babied his large family of animals and spent time everyday with them. She often joked that Bud loved his animals more than he loved her. Bud could fix anything and spent time repairing homes, building fences and building livestock pens and shelters everywhere he and Sheila lived. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t drive or fix. Bud was the ultimate story teller and could tell stories with flair. He could keep you laughing with his stories and times the family was all together his nephews and nieces enjoyed listening to him.

Bud is survived by his wife Sheila, his son Kip, his sisters Karren Coffey and husband Lonny, Twanaha Rea, Kembra Moerbe, sister-in-law Shannon Timberlake, nieces and nephews Micah Coffey and wife Robyn, Brandon Rusk and wife Rachel, Michelle Wolf and husband Chris, Jeff Hord, Eric Moerbe and wife Susan, Tishell Fontenot and husband Allen; and great-nieces and nephews Lacie Rusk, Jessie Hord, Lainey Wolf, Callan Coffey, Allie Wolf, Klaos Fontenot, Deklyn Fontenot, Oslin Fontenot and and a host of cousins and friends.
