FAMILY & FRIENDS
Her sister says Loré brought people together.
As families prepare to gather for the holidays, one family in San Angelo is facing a different reality.
“While everyone’s families are getting together this year for Thanksgiving, our family will be grieving and mourning my sister’s death,” Faith Ramos said in a November Facebook post.
Faith’s sister, Lorena, died Aug. 10, 2025, and her death has been followed by a silence still echoing throughout her family and the community.

Who was Lorena Ramos?
At 40 years old, Lorena, known by friends and family as “Loré,” held many roles in her family. She was a sister, a mother, a grandmother, an aunt, a daughter – and, above all — she was a friend you could count on.
Lorena loved cooking, dancing, little dogs, and spending time with her family. She was outgoing, always making friends and bringing people together.
She was resilient and compassionate, despite her personal challenges.
“She went through a lot of things and battled a lot in life,” her sister Faith said. “But she was always there for you.”
Lorena was the second oldest in a family of nine siblings, and she valued family time. She loved cooking big meals and bringing the family together, and she never missed a chance to celebrate her grandmother’s birthday.
Faith describes her as “the glue that held the family together.”

Unanswered Questions Need Resolution
For the Ramos family, profound mourning is combined with the pursuit of truth. They feel many questions in Lorena’s case have been left unanswered.
Now, they are searching for clarity.
“I’ve been doing a lot of praying,” Faith told me. “Because, you know what? My family was angry.”
Faith fears her sister’s case was not investigated thoroughly enough and also insists that Lorena must be remembered as more than her past.
“The thing is, it’s somebody’s mom. It’s somebody’s sister… it’s somebody,” she said.
“This person is still a person. It doesn’t matter about their past.
“It doesn’t matter who my sister was – she was still a loving person. That’s what hurts me. That’s why we’re fighting. And that’s why I’ve been posting about what happened to her. Because I don’t feel like it’s right.”
Legacy and Hope
Despite all the questions still lingering after her untimely death, one thing is clear: Lorena loved her family, and her family still loves her.
They are committed to preserving her memory and legacy through family gatherings.
Faith shared, “That’s what I want to do for my sister from now on. I want to start this tradition of bringing everyone together.”
In carrying forward the traditions held so close to Lorena’s heart, her family ensures that her generous spirit will never fade.
