The Tom Green County Library System’s Summer Reading Program will get underway during kickoff parties at each location on June 7.
Young patrons can “check out” an assortment of interesting offerings including reading, crafts, activities, and more.
The summer events are free, but some require registration.
Kickoff Party 1 will take place at 10 a.m. in the Sugg Community Room of the Stephens Central Library, 33 W. Beauregard Ave.
There will be story time, coloring, button making, games and snacks, and a paint-along with local artist Wendy Woodring from Storming Designs Art Studio.
Kickoff Party 2 at the North Branch Library begins at noon, 3001 N. Chadbourne St., featuring chalk art, dictionary art, henna and a visit from Therapaws.
The day’s events will conclude with “Creations in Color” at the Angelo West Branch from 3-4 p.m., 3013 Vista Del Arroyo Drive.
This will be the first art project of seven-week program providing participants with a colorful new craft each Saturday.
