OBITUARY

Juanita Ceballos peacefully left this earth to join her Heavenly Father after months of illness on Thursday, November 20, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Juanita was born January 27, 1950 in Chihuahua, Chihuahua Mexico to parents Alberto and Francisca Cigarroa, she grew up in El Paso and graduated from Ysleta High School.

Three children from a marriage are Valerie, Joe, and Anthony. Over the years, she worked for AT&T as a telephone operator. This job transferred her from El Paso to Odessa and then eventually to San Antonio where she retired after 30 years. While working for AT&T in Odessa, she attended cosmetology school part time.

After retirement, she worked seasonal jobs at SeaWorld in the ticket booth and at HEB as a cashier.

After being together with her sweetheart, Juan David Salas, for over 30 years they finally were married in 2017 in San Angelo.

She loved riding the charter bus traveling to the casinos, she enjoyed spending every Tuesday at the senior center in San Antonio. Her job was to make the birthday corsages. Visiting with friends, eating good food, playing loteria and meeting local politicians were some of the highlights of these days.

Juanita loved to shop. She could spend hours in a store going up and down every aisle. Clearance sections were her favorite. Many shopping trips she came home hours later empty handed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sweetheart, Juan David Salas, and other family members.

Juanita is survived by her children who will forever cherish her memory and strive to carry on the lessons she taught them. Her 3 children are her daughter, Valerie Ceballos; son, Joe Ceballos and wife Emily, and son, Anthony Ceballos and wife Ashley. Her 5 surviving siblings are her sister, Mary (Able) Arevalos, her sister, Yolanda “Yoli” (Arturo) Garcia, her sister, Mary Elena “Nena” Lopez, her sister, Nancy Garcia, and her brother, Albert (Isabel) Cigarroa.

Her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren are Valerie “Boo Boo” Stoddard and sons, Dominic Vasquez and Julius Jimenez; Omar Ceballos and children, Carlos, David and Gloriana; Alexavier, Arissa, Ajai, and Abri Ceballos; Tanner Rodriguez; Julian, Jase and Alaric Ceballos; Ethan Ceballos and sons, Leeroy and Carlos and many other family members.

Juana was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She was known for her warm heart, gentle wisdom and unwavering support. She devoted her life to her family and to the many people whose lives she touched with her kindness, strength and generosity.

The Ceballos family would like to express a sincere gratitude to the compassionate staff at West Texas Rehab Hospice of San Angelo. They made her last few days here on earth comfortable. We will forever be grateful for all they did.

Though she will be deeply missed, Juana’s spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025 in Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel. All family and friends are invited to celebrate the life that Juanita lived.
