MEET THE CANDIDATES
EDITOR’S NOTE: As 2026 shapes up as a historic midterm year, The Concho Observer’s will be publishing questionnaires sent to local candidates for our “Meet the Candidate” series.
Name: Jana Johnson (R)
Running for: Republican nomination for Tom Green County Court At Law Judge, No. 1
Why are you running/seeking re-election?
I am running to ensure the protection of the justice system, and our community deserves a court that is Fair. Honest. Trusted. I know I have the best temperament and the broadest legal experience across numerous areas of law that the County Court at Law presides over, which both will allow our County Court at Law to continue to run smoothly, decide cases accurately across diverse cases, resolve cases faster, protect due process, and serve the public with integrity and efficiency.
What are your top priorities?
Uphold the law, administer justice with fair and impartial rulings, respect for all participants, every voice heard, courtroom management that is fair, calm, efficient, stronger public confidence in the justice system.
What issues have constituents told you they were concerned about?
Compassion for our Veterans, Due Process for Immigrants, and criminal cases getting dismissed that should not have been dismissed.
Any plans for rallies, town halls, or meetings in the near future?
A few meet and greets that are still in the works.
