The Wall Education Foundation in conjunction with the Wall ISD Holocaust Education Committee will present a Holocaust Remembrance event at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, at the Tom Green County Central Library.
The program, which includes “Yad Vashem” poster exhibit, will offer community members an opportunity to reflect on one of history’s most devastating chapters.
The featured speaker, Marc De Zwaan, is a Holocaust educator and the grandson of Dutch resistance member Marinus Wastenecker.

De Zwaan will share personal and historical insights, aiming to educate, preserve memory, and encourage resistance against antisemitism and hatred.
The gathering falls on the same week as Holocaust Remembrance Day, which is observed globally each year.
Yad Vashem is Israel’s official World Holocaust Remembrance Center, located in Jerusalem, dedicated to documenting, researching, and educating about the Holocaust.
The Hebrew name, which translates to “a memorial and a name,” is taken from the text of Isaiah 56:5, and symbolizes the commitment to honoring the 6,000,000 Jewish victims and preserving their memory.
The exhibit is offered through the Texas Holocaust, Genocide, and Antisemitism Advisory Commission and the Friends of the Texas Holocaust, Genocide, & Antisemitism Advisory Committee.
Community members are cordially invited to attend.
The Stephens Central Library is located in the Duwain E. Hughes Jr. Building, 33 W. Beauregard Ave., in downtown San Angelo.
