The Concho Valley Council of Governments announced the appointment of Erin Hernandez as its new Executive Director, according to a news release on Friday.

Hernandez brings extensive leadership experience and a deep commitment to regional collaboration, innovation, and public service. Her appointment marks an exciting new chapter for CVCOG as the organization continues its mission to strengthen communities and improve the quality of life across the 14-county Concho Valley region.

“The Concho Valley Council of Governments has been my professional home for seven and a half years, and I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve as Executive Director,” said Hernandez.

“Together with our dedicated team and committed partners and members, I look forward to continuing our important work and shaping a vibrant future.”

The CVCOG Executive Committee and Board of Directors expressed complete confidence in Hernandez’s ability to lead the organization through continued growth and innovation. Her focus will include advancing regional initiatives in public safety, transportation, aging services, economic development, and community resilience.

“I am honored to step into the role of Executive Director and build on the incredible work we’ve accomplished together,” Hernandez added. “As we look to the future, my focus will be on strengthening our impact, fostering innovation, and ensuring our mission continues to thrive.”

Hernandez succeeds John Austin Stokes, who served as Executive Director of CVCOG and has accepted the position of Executive Director with the Texas Association of Regional Councils.
