OBITUARY

Mr. Gregorio Savala Jr. (Tito), 80, of Odessa, and formerly of Mertzon, was called home to his heavenly Father on December 8, 2025.

Mr. Savala is survived by his former wife, Eva McCutchen and preceded in death by his ex-wife, Theresa Ponsetti.

He is survived by his children: Gregorio Savala III and daughter-in-law Rita Savala, Angela Gonzales and son-in-law David, Hondo Savala and Edwina Cope. Survivors also include 16 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings include his brother, Felix Savala and his sister, Gloria Martinez. His sister Raymunda Hinojosa preceded him in death.

Those who knew him will remember his passion for the Texas Longhorns, the Houston Astros, and NASCAR racing, as well as his deep love for music and singing.

Gregorio was a “die-hard Cowboys fan.” He also found great happiness in traveling and greatly enjoyed cruising and spending time with loved ones. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 4-8 p.m. and Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 4-8 p.m. at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels North, 1002 North Oakes Street, San Angelo.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Vero Flores and Rita Lujan, caretakers and Hospice – Gentiva.
